Lantha F1 is an early ‘Sugar Baby’ type hybrid which matures in 74 days under Colorado growing conditions. It produces a heavy, uniform crop of nearly round fruit (10.5 x 9.5 in /26.5 x 24 cm) which average 14 lb (6.4 kg).

The strong rind is an attractive fade resistant dark green with underlying dark narrow green stripes.

The internal appearance is excellent; bright red flesh contrasts nicely with small black seed and there is a well defined flesh-rind boundary. The eating quality is superb; the flesh is sweet, solid and delicious. Lantha F1 has a compact vine and is resistant to some strains of Fusarium.

Compared to other hybrids in its class, Lantha F1 has better external color retention, improved quality and a more uniform yield.
