Rind may be very dark green when grown under heavy vines.  When exposed to the sun, stripes become obvious on a medium green background.  Earliness is Sugar Baby’s strongest point.  The red flesh can be bright and attractive, but the shelf life is short compared to modern varieties.  Non-resistant so crop rotation is essential.  See HSR 2698 in the Pipeline section for an alternative.
